The client for this project wanted to create a one of its kind private family retreat on the terrace of the existing spa hotel. The brief involved designing a semi-open suite with emphasis on therapy, meditation and yoga rooms along with a sitting and dining lounge, bedrooms and an office for the client.

 

The architecture is based on the vernacular styles that were close to the client and follows the principles of vastu. A semi covered pathway connecting all activities forms the main spine with landscaped courts intersecting it. Punctured walls along different angles define the various spaces. A feeling of openness, entwining spaces along with elements of surprise are the central theme for this project.
